SuperfreakMedia present new horror short ‘The Final Girl’
Like the forgotten final reel of a classic 80s slasher ‘The Final Girl’ sliced its way onto the net this past Halloween night. Filled with nostalgia and everything a true horror hound could ask for the aim of the short film was to hark back to the classic genre gems that were immortalized on VHS. Starring veteran scream queen Jessica Messenger (as Olivia), ‘The Final Girl’ follows our lone survivor on Halloween night as she tries to overcome her two pursuers BagHead (Phill Martin) and Babyface (John Miles).
Just when it looks like her time is up, some very special friends come into play allowing for a shockingly, bloody climax.
Liam Banks, the director of the short, has been blown away with the response to the film so far. “It was incredibly fun to make and to get the response we have had so far from horror fans has been incredible! Everyone involved threw themselves into this completely and pulled through an incredible intense shoot.”
Shot in Nottingham, over 2 consecutive nights with little to zero budget the film hopes to continue it’s life on the festival circuit after a brief stint online. The film itself will be available to view on SuperfreakMedia’s
YouTube channel until November 30th. Once taken down the film will be submitted to a variety of genre film festivals so be sure to check it out whilst you can!
