Back in 2011, horror writers David Moody (HATER, AUTUMN, STRANGERS) and Wayne Simmons (FLU, PLASTIC JESUS, THE GIRL IN THE BASEMENT) set out on a short book signing tour, appearing at a few book stores and genre conventions. More dates were added, the tour extending throughout 2012 and beyond. Somewhere along the line it even picked up its own branding; The Never Trust a Man With Hair tour; due to the two writers’ shared preference for a ‘short back and sides’ cut, shall we say.
On 30th October 2015, The Never-ending Never Trust A Man With Hair roadshow rolls into Birmingham Waterstones (New Street) with what is shaping up to be the best event so far for Moody and Simmons. Not only will Simmons be launching his new book, VOODOO CHILD, a slasher horror novel co-written with Andre Duza and published through Moody’s Infected Books press, but there’ll be an announcement of a brand new project seeing many more authors joining the Infected fold throughout 2016, and a unique opportunity for aspiring writers, too.
Moody will also be revealing more about the recently announced movie adaptation of his best-selling novel HATER, and talking about the highly anticipated new HATER book, ONE OF US WILL BE DEAD BY MORNING.
Add to that an appearance from the Philadelphia-based Duza, through the wonders of technology, and an interactive workshop, led by Moody, tentatively entitled ‘The Infected Books Guide to Surviving the End of the World’, and it’s going to be a night to remember.
The event kicks off at 7pm. It’s free entry but those interested are advised to contact the store, or tweet them @WstonesNewSt, to reserve their place. Fancy dress is optional with a prize for the best costume.
