Hello Mindy, thank you for your time and welcome to UKHS.
UKHS – First of all, can you please introduce yourself to fans of UKHS who don’t already know you and tell us how you become an actress, model and reality TV star?
MR – Chance and circumstance. But it’s mostly my comedic improv skills that have kept me continuously employed the last 2 and a half years. My reality fan base helps me get movie roles and my acting abilities get me on reality shows…quite a good gig.
UKHS – Which actress inspires you the most?
MR – Goldie Hawn. I get compared to her a lot as well. I feel like there’s a void right now of funny/sexy female character actors and it’s allowed me to do well on the indie level…I’d love to get a supporting role in a studio film though.
UKHS – You have appeared in a number of horror movies now including ‘V/H/S/2’, ‘The Haunting of Whaley House’, ‘The Bitch That Cried Wolf’ and ‘Gingerdead Man vs. Evil Bong’. Which one is your favourite as an actress and why?
MR – From Charles Band and all the Full Moon peeps, to Asylum and Jose Prendes, to Joe Hollow, I’ve made so many friends that have become like family along the way that I could never single out an overall favorite project. The industry is known for it’s shitbags, but they never get far…I’m proud to know so many stand up, hard working talented peeps in Hollywood.
UKHS – For as long as there has been movies there has been typecasting and you can’t make a horror movie without a beautiful busty blonde, do you feel this plays to your advantage and what do you love most about acting in horror flicks?
MR – I joke about how often I play stripper/hooker roles because my look nails me the job quite easily. I think I’m on a few speed dials for when people need a stripper that can act, lol. I’m bustier than mainstream actresses can afford to professionally be and my facial features are modern and particular…I’m not winning an Oscar for portraying a 1600’s Pilgrim anytime soon. I definitely have my niche, but that’s just part of what I do. I’ve done drama, action, reality, and of course tons of comedy. Don’t forget that as the busty Candy Galore in The Haunting of Whaley House…I never die. That was Jose Prendes’ big middle finger to horror movie stereotypes and I totally love it.
MR – I was on every episode that season so it was a great experience for me and probably my biggest “known for.” George Lopez and the producers saw something funny in me and I was honored to end up being the most featured every time. Of course I played it up…people saw a blonde, ditsy bimbo…but everything I said was actually pretty quick-witted and clever…was I fucking with the world? It’s all about the screen time 😉
As for the perfect first date? I don’t think it matters what you’re doing or where you are…because you’re too lost in the company and conversation of the person you’re next to.
UKHS – What would you consider to be the three main ingredients that you need to make a classic horror flick?
MR – Monsters, blood and Mindy Robinson 😉 Blatant self promotion there.
MR – Yea…it would have been more fun if I had actually had a real role in them. Luckily, there are 100 other projects I do get to speak in, lol.
UKHS – Finally, what projects are you currently working and what do you have lined up for 2014 which you can tell UKHS about?
MR – The new season of King of the Nerds starts on TBS in January, I make appearances this season on Celebrity Undercover, Tattoos After Dark, CSI: Las Vegas, Days of Our Lives and more. There are a ton of movies like VHS-2, Casting Couch, Bounty Killer, Babes Behind Bars, Gingerdead Man vs. Evil Bong all out now. Alpha House, Zombie Stoners, A Blood Story, Live Nude Girls, are all new features coming out…so many movies coming out please check www.imdb.me/mindyrobinson for a full list of credits and projects.
